the blur really did it's job quite well. But I have to say, the girls face makes her look a little.. hopeless, or sad, or some sort of negative emotion in that region.
Rather then kickass..
I wanted to try to capture an inner turmoil. I don't know what she's guarding the pass against, but the feeling I got was that it wasn't anything that was very nice (I think this may be subconcious on my part given I'm reading the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant at the moment and they are in the midst of some battles in that).
I'm really pleased with the blur - it was the first time I'd used that effect in postwork.

Sometimes the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.
I was going more for a look that was more inner turmoil than cold and deadly.
The dress is actually a kunochi which is part of the same set that matches the bracers, I just changed the texture on it from the orange and blue scallops to the black. It fitted with the kung fu look tho.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

The rest looks good though
Her face should be colder, the glance and eyebrows should be altered so that an aura of coldness can be seen and felt.
I think something other than dresses would fit well with the gauntlets.
You should blur the balcony too, but not as blurry as the background. That would give you the maximum depth effect!
But it's just me
Nice work though
