No, she's not awakened, but she does have a few tricks - including the datajack you can see here.

I noticed that patch on her forehead. Seems that would be both convenient and inconvenient to have it there

It's supposed to be a datajack (from Shadowrun). Those are usually found on the temple as they are the easiest place to connect through the skull to the brain and it is also pretty simple to plug in if it's there. The other place you can have things setup is behind the ear, though that is usually reserved for things like skill softs that you plug in and leave in for a long period of time.

I am familiar with shadowrun, and the datajacks. I was just saying it is in a convenient location to reach, but inconvenient in that it is also likely easy to damage

Yeah, I know what you mean - I think that's just one of the hazards of running in the shadows, you need to be able to get to things quickly, but that also means it's liely to be in the line of fire from every one else as well.
