No back story here but there is still a tale to tell.
This image took over 26 hours to render at 1200x1200px.
The reason? That globe in her hand has a pointlight in the middle of it. Even with the shadows on that pointlight turned off it still took forever.
A little bit of postwork done in The Gimp to clean up the collar and add in a few effects on the globe.

in any event. the wait produced one of your best renders yet! nice execution. let's just hope you don't plan on making day length renders a routine thing.

I like the angle, it looks like there's something watching her from the upper corner of the room, a camera perhaps? And looking down at her. She looks like she might be thinking "now you see me.. *charge up powerball* *shoot ball* now you don't"
The lighting in this is great! Very moody. Love it
Thanks mate. I wanted to try something different with the camera angle for a change rather than go with the usual straight on or to one side positioning. If something is watching her (which may well be the case), I'd be putting my money on a spirit or something of that ilk.
I'm really happy with the lighting in this too. I still can't believe that one little light caused it to take so long to render, but it was definitely worth the wait for the final effect on that ball in her hand.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. The render time may also be something to do with the Tennia outfit though. I did a pic with it that took 11 hours to render at a lower res: [link]
