Artist's Comments

It's been a while since I've posted a new image. Moving house, having a baby and starting a new job tend to slow things down a bit.

This is a project that I'd had in mind for quite a while. The character is Dehna, and she is an amalgam of her namesake from Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth series and on of my Dark Age of Camelot characters.

In her first life given to her by Mr Goodkind, she is a Mord Sith. Rather than try an explain what a Mord Sith is I suggest you read the Sword of Truth series, as they are a little complicated and rather messy to deal with if you use magic against them. They carry a leather rod called an agiel which they can use to wrest control of any magic used against them and in turn use it against the original wielder. They wear red leather when they are "training" a pet, and this is what Dehna is pictured in.

In her second life through DAoC, Dehna is a Reaver, a knight of the Inconnu god Arawn - guardian of the dead. They are fighters who use not only martial skills but also magical means to damage, disrupt and defeat their opponents. As they progress in skill, they leap from wearing leather to chainmail.

I have tried to stay true to the original concept of the Mord Sith while working within the constraints of my chosen MMO. I think I succeeded.

Dehna! Poor girl!
Yep I just quickly read the 1000 page thick book to find out who dehna was.. no I kid you ;) I actually started reading the book some odd weeks ago, it's a big coincidence you now bring it up!
Though I had pictured the Agiel differently it's a good one youve made here :)
Love to poor dehna, trapped with the Keeper forever.. (currently halfway through the second book..)

Thanks mate. You are right, that is a bit of a coincidence. I can't take credit for the the Agiel (actually it's a freebie whip I found), but posing the damn thing has taken me nearly 2 hours!

Cool that you are reading the books, I've got to start on Chainfire soon and I got a copy of Phantom recently as well. Guess I'll get to them both eventually.

Nice pic now the bits. RDNA has a very nice latex texture that may of worked alot better. on the skin suit. the whip is ok but a bit angular i know its hard to pose a sinewy figure. But all in all great job.

BTW : Did you know content paradise is actually giving away poser 5 ?

It may take a week to download but i know you will like it.

Didn't know about the latex texture at RDNA - I was working with what I had, but I agree that I should have used a different one. The whip was a complete pita to pose. That alone took me about 2 hours to get even close to right.
Thanks for the constructive crits tho. Didn't know that they were giving that away. I'll have to take a look when I get home tonight and start it downloading. It may well be time to give it a go and see what I can do with that over D|S.

Again, thanks.
