nicely done. i had a similar idea but could not muddle enough with the light settings to fake blacklight. is that a hongyu lingerie set?

The light settings were a real pain to sort out, I had the same problem so in the end I cheated. I had rendered out a couple of images with different light settings and one with just the posed outfit and tried compositing it but it just didn't work - to many things that shouldn't be seen were visible and trying to remove it all in post was posing other problems.

In the end, I opened the scene back up, set V4's body mate to black and rendered that out (used a freebie anime light set I've had for ages). Postworked that render into what I already had and got a result that I was happy with.

No probs at all.

There seems to be 2 schools of thought on postwork - those that say you should do it on everything and those that say it should be avoided. I saw a comment somewhere recently that said in essence "if it improve the piece, do it, if i doesn't impgrove it, don't do ir". I use that strategy.

i would have to agree with the quote. i like seeing it used sparingly.

there are those out there who slather so much photoshoppery over a render, that it leaves one to wonder why a render was done underneath it at all? but that's just being catty.

I tried a whole lot of different approaches to get it to render out but in the end I used a simple light set that made the lingerie "glow" and then just set V4's body to black in the surfaces menu.

A little bit of fiddling in PS and voila! One silhouette. I think the effect worked better on this one than it did on the Yellow version I did a few days later. Going to try another 1 or 2 to complete the series, just have to choose the right lingerie.
